The world globe

At 22 miles, the Ngozumpa Glacier is estimated to be among the longest in the greater Himalayan region. This makes it of particular interest to scientists and hydrologists, who study the changes from year to year. This picture was taken from the famed vantage point of Gokyo Ri, which marks the end of a popular trekking route from which one can see five 8,000 m peaks.
